Labor And Delivery

Personal Care During Labor and Delivery

The end of your pregnancy journey is here at last — it’s delivery day! Rest assured that you will be attended to by one of our providers — not a stranger — during your labor and delivery. Our providers will also check on you during your postpartum hospital stay. After all, who knows your needs better than the obstetrician who has cared for you over the previous nine months and the Ob-Gyn practice you’ve come to trust so deeply?

Before the big day, we will discuss your birth plan with you to make sure your preferences (such as natural childbirth or use of pain medications) are met to the best of our ability. If you require a Caesarean section or other interventions during your delivery, you will be taken care of by a board-certified obstetrician who is trained to manage any kind of delivery. The need for a planned C-section due to certain physical or medical conditions will be discussed in advance during one of your prenatal visits, and your doctor and our staff will give you full instructions on how to prepare for surgery.

Before Your Due Date

As your due date approaches, we provide extra services to ensure the safety and comfort of our patients:

  • Office “add-in” appointments during regular office hours to evaluate potential labor issues.
  • On-call service by one of our own providers for the hospital’s labor and delivery suite.
  • Direct telephone access 24 hours a day to your obstetrician through our main office phone number.
  • Our Main office number will re route your call to our after hour care link service after regular business hours, and the physician that is on call will return your call promptly.
